Got 67% — moderate risk. The HR walked me through which 2 AI tools to learn for my finance role. Three months in, I'm leading my team's automation.

How the FindHR AI Job Risk Score works

This is a free 60-second diagnostic that estimates your job's AI displacement risk on a 0–100 scale. The score combines four dimensions of role exposure: structured task share (how much of your work is rule-based vs judgment-driven), customer interaction dependency, judgment-under-uncertainty requirement, and physical or in-person element. The dimensions map to McKinsey's occupational exposure framework, OECD's 2024 AI exposure index, and Q1 2026 Indian layoff signal from BPO, IT services, and financial services.

The output is a single number plus a recommended action band: stay course (score 0–35), augment your work with AI tools (36–60), re-skill into adjacent roles (61–80), or pivot career (81–100). The recommendation is calibrated to your experience band and Indian market reality, not US benchmarks.

What the four inputs measure

  • Structured task share — how much of your day is repeatable, rule-based work that an LLM or RPA tool can replicate
  • Customer dependency — how much of your value comes from real-time human relationships (high dependency = lower risk)
  • Judgment-under-uncertainty — how often you make calls without clear right answers (high judgment = lower risk)
  • Physical/in-person — degree of physical execution required (high physical = much lower risk)

Which Indian jobs are most at risk from AI in 2026-2028?

Based on Q1 2026 Indian layoff data and exposure modelling, these roles are in the highest displacement tier — meaning the 2026–2028 window is when meaningful job reduction starts, not 2030+:

  • BPO and customer support tier-1 — voice-bot and chat-bot adoption is already at 40-60% in Indian SaaS and e-commerce; tier-1 roles are being consolidated 30-50%
  • Content writers (SEO-template work) — pure template-driven content is now produced 80% faster with LLMs; content teams are restructuring around editors + AI
  • Mid-tier accountants doing routine bookkeeping — Zoho/Tally + AI categorisation is replacing data-entry-heavy accounting work
  • Paralegal contract drafting — standard NDAs, employment contracts, vendor agreements now drafted in seconds
  • Basic data entry and back-office operations — already the most exposed category in the BPO sector
  • Junior software engineers doing CRUD work — Copilot and Cursor have shifted productivity 30-50%, reducing demand for entry-level positions
  • Entry-level financial analysts — standardised quarterly reports and pitch decks now AI-templated

Which jobs are safest from AI displacement?

The safe roles share three features: physical work, complex relationship management, or judgment under uncertainty. AI struggles with all three.

  • Skilled trades (electricians, plumbers, technicians) — physical work, low displacement risk
  • Nurses and frontline healthcare — physical + relational + judgment
  • Senior sales and account management — relationship-driven, multi-stakeholder navigation
  • M&A lawyers and complex transaction specialists — high judgment, high stakes, low automation
  • Niche craft (jewellery design, hand-finished apparel, premium F&B) — physical + creative
  • Most leadership roles — stakeholder navigation, political judgment, ambiguity tolerance
  • Therapists, counsellors, coaches — relational depth that AI cannot fake at the level humans need

Frequently asked questions

Will AI take my job by 2027?

Probability depends on role exposure to LLM automation, structured task share, and customer-facing element. Roles with above 70% structured task share and below 20% physical or relational requirements have the highest displacement risk in the 2026–2028 window. The FindHR AI Job Risk score combines these dimensions into a single 0–100 number based on Q1 2026 Indian layoff data and McKinsey occupational exposure estimates.

Which jobs are most at risk from AI in India?

Highest-risk Indian roles (2026 data): customer support tier-1, SEO-template content writers, mid-tier bookkeepers, paralegal contract drafting, basic data entry and BPO operations, junior software engineers doing CRUD work, and entry-level financial analysts producing standardised reports. Indian BPO and IT services are the most exposed sectors, with 12–18% near-term displacement risk.

Which jobs are safest from AI?

Lowest-risk roles combine physical work, complex relationship management, or judgment under uncertainty: skilled trades, nurses and frontline healthcare, senior sales and account management, M&A lawyers, niche craft, and most leadership roles requiring stakeholder navigation.

How is the AI Job Risk Score calculated?

Four inputs: structured task share, customer interaction dependency, judgment-under-uncertainty requirement, and physical or in-person element. These map to McKinsey's occupational exposure framework and Q1 2026 Indian layoff signal. Output is a 0–100 number plus a recommended action: re-skill, repackage, switch role, or stay course.

What should I do if my AI Job Risk Score is high?

Three actions in order of impact: (1) audit which 30–40% of your current work is genuinely irreplaceable judgment vs replaceable execution, double down on the judgment; (2) re-skill into adjacent roles that combine your domain with higher-judgment work (e.g., content writer to content strategist; junior accountant to FP&A analyst); (3) book an HR consultation for a personalised pivot strategy at ₹199.

Is the AI Job Risk Score free?

Yes. Completely free. No signup, no email gate. The diagnostic runs in your browser using static logic — no AI model call. We make money from paid HR consultations only.

How accurate is the AI displacement prediction?

The score is directional, not precise. Calibrated on academic research (McKinsey, OECD, MIT FutureTech) and real Q1 2026 Indian layoff data. It tells you whether your role is in the 'displace fast', 'displace slow', or 'augment' tier — not the exact month you will be impacted. For high-confidence pivot planning, a 25-minute HR consultation is more useful.
